Our projects

Voices Welcome deliver singing opportunities for refugee communities across the UK.

Peckham, South London

We launched our first project in 2019 located in Peckham, South London, to bring singing opportunities to refugee communities in the surrounding area.

We have partnered with local refugee support centre, Southwark Day Centre for Asylum Seekers (SDCAS) to deliver singing sessions in their centres to contribute to the services offered to refugees.

Our project is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund and started in Spring 2019 and will run for a year.

The project is delivered by an experienced Music Director and our sessions are now a regular weekly feature of the SDCAS programme. The sessions are being well received and the participants have enjoyed songs from Nigeria, South Africa and Senegal.

Volunteers from local Peckham choirs have been joining the singing sessions presenting opportunities to bring the community together.
